Blockshoot turns editing a RockBlocks drum beat into a shooting game. A randomly generated kit and beat — always at least a kick, a snare, and a cymbal, sometimes more, with an adjustable kit size and a chance of odd time signatures (plus triplets, if you turn them on) — fills the grid, and an unhinged squirrel with a vegetable gun stands ready to fire. Aim through the scope and shoot a carrot, cucumber, or tomato at any note to delete it: hit one sixteenth out of a run of four and only that one disappears, clear every note out of a beat block and the block vanishes, clear a whole row and it disappears too, and shoot off the tail of the beat everywhere and the measure itself gets shorter. Right-click cycles the squirrel's fire rate from slow to turbo, and holding the fire button keeps it firing. It plays through RockBlocks' real drum engine, works with a mouse, a touchscreen, or a keyboard, and the result can be saved to a free no-login page or straight to your account — either way landing in the full RockBlocks editor to keep building.
How to play
1.Look at your kit. A random drum kit fills the grid — always a kick, a snare-family voice, and a cymbal, sometimes more. Adjust Kit size and check Include triplets before rolling a New grid if you want a different shape to start from.
2.Aim and fire. Move the scope over any note and click (or tap, or press Enter/Space if you've tabbed to it) to shoot a carrot, cucumber, or tomato at it. Hold the fire button to keep firing, and right-click the grid to cycle the squirrel's speed from slow to turbo.
3.Watch the beat change shape. A shot note disappears. Clear every note in a beat block and the block itself goes empty; clear a whole row and it drops out; shoot off the tail of the beat everywhere and the measure gets shorter on the spot.
4.Add or edit rows. Add Row drops in a brand-new, fully-loaded instrument line whenever you want more to shoot, and any row's drum piece — new or original — can be swapped from its dropdown at any time.
5.Listen. Press Play to hear exactly what's left, adjust the tempo or any row's volume, and keep shooting — shoot, listen, shoot, listen, until it grooves the way you want.
6.Save it. Save the result to a free page at rockblocks.app/YourName, no login required, or straight to your account if you're signed in — either way it opens in the full RockBlocks editor to keep building.

Aim with the scope and click (or tap, or hold to keep firing) to launch the squirrel's next vegetable. Right-click the grid to cycle the squirrel's speed from slow to turbo. No mouse? Tab to a note and press Enter or Space to shoot it. Each block is a beat — a lone quarter note goes down in one shot, a run of sixteenth notes takes one shot per note. Clear every note out of a row and it disappears; shoot off the whole tail of the beat and the measure itself gets shorter. Add Row drops in a brand new, fully-loaded instrument line whenever you want more to shoot — and any row's drum piece, new or original, can be swapped from its dropdown any time. Hit Play any time to hear how the beat sounds so far.

A real RockBlocks beat, start to finish
Blockshoot isn't a separate toy — it plays through the same audio engine and the same song data as the full RockBlocks editor. Whatever's left after you're done shooting is a genuine beat: save it to a free page at rockblocks.app/YourName, or straight to your account if you're signed in, and it opens in the full editor ready to keep building, share, or export.
Frequently asked questions
What is Blockshoot?
Blockshoot is a RockBlocks feature that turns editing a drum beat into a shooting game: shoot notes out of a randomly generated beat with a vegetable gun, fired by an unhinged squirrel, and hear the result any time.
Is Blockshoot free?
Yes. Every part of Blockshoot — the random beat generator, unlimited shots, adding rows, and saving the result — is free, with no account required to play.
Do I need a mouse to play Blockshoot?
No. Blockshoot works with a mouse, a touchscreen (tap, or hold to keep firing), or a keyboard — Tab to any note and press Enter or Space to shoot it.
Can Blockshoot beats use odd time signatures or triplets?
Yes. Generated beats sometimes land on an odd time signature, like 5/4 or 7/4, on their own, and shooting off the whole tail of a beat can shrink the time signature further. Triplets are off by default — check Include triplets before rolling a new grid to allow them.
What happens when I clear a whole row or beat block?
A beat block with every note shot out disappears entirely rather than sitting there as a silent rest, and a row with nothing left in it disappears too — add a brand-new row any time with Add Row.
Can I change which drum a row plays?
Yes. Every row, whether it was in the starting kit or added later, has a dropdown to swap its instrument without touching its pattern.
Does Blockshoot save my beat?
Yes. Save it to a free, no-login page at rockblocks.app/YourName, or straight to your account if you're signed in — either way it opens in the full RockBlocks editor.
